OVERVIEW
6-Day Gorillas and the Serengeti Migration Two of the most famous African safari destinations are Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. It’s a mid-term safari of exciting primates including mountain gorillas and chimps, the Big Five of tigers, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos, as well as millions of wildebeest, zebras, Thompson gazelles, and elands, among others. The Ngorongoro Crater and the Kigezi Highlands have memorable African safari memories.
THE TRIP’S HIGHLIGHTS
The first day of your trip begins with the arrival of your international flight. Day 2: Travel from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Day 3: Gorilla tracking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
On day four, move to Kisoro airstrip for a planned flight.
Visit the Serengeti National Park on Day 5.
Day 6: Take a scheduled flight back to Arusha International Airport.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the lodge
It’s time for you to board your foreign flight. For the 6-Day Gorillas and Serengeti Migration Safari, we were picked up by a private driver and taken to a hotel. Check into the hotel where you have made a dinner and overnight reservation.
Day 2: Depart Kampala for the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be taken to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the Kampala-Masaka highway after breakfast. Stop at the equator in Kayabwe for a photo chance or to browse for crafts. Travel to Bwindi National Park after lunch in Mbarara, where you can see banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with long horns. When you arrive at the park in the evening, you will go for a group walk to Buhoma village to see how the park’s residents have survived for decades by living near the great trees. Dinner and an overnight stay are booked at the hotel for the Gorillas and Serengeti Migration Safari.
Day 3: Tracking gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Gorilla trekking voted the best African safari activity, brings you up close and personal with the world’s great apes. Drive to the park headquarters after breakfast for registration and a park ranger briefing on gorilla trekking before leaving for the thick impenetrable jungle that is home to gorillas.
The ranger takes you across steep hills, narrow valleys, dense woodland tracts, and river streams in search of gorillas. The time spent with the gorillas is incredible and thrilling, but it is just one hour long for environmental reasons. Return to the lodge for some rest and lunch.
Day 4: Move to Kisoro airstrip for a planned flight.
After breakfast, travel to Kisoro airstrip for a planned flight to Entebbe International Airport, where you will be greeted and transferred to Arusha town for accommodation and relaxation. You will take a city tour depending on when the gorillas and Serengeti Migration Safari arrive. A reservation has been made for dinner and an overnight stay at the cabin.
Day 5: Visit the Serengeti National Park
Travel to Serengeti National Park after an early morning Gorillas and Serengeti Migration Safari breakfast at 6 a.m., passing by the edge of Ngorongoro crater and the golden savannah, and limitless plains allowing for animal sightings along the way teeming with zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffalos, and so many others, making it possible to see why the Serengeti is one of the Lunch will be eaten on a lovely rock kopje where you will be able to see the Serengeti’s famed pink-headed lizards.
We go on a leisurely game drive after lunch to see more animals. Check into the lodge where you’ve made a reservation for dinner and a night’s rest.
Day 6: Take a scheduled flight back to Arusha International Airport.
After breakfast, you’ll go on a final game drive through the Serengeti, where you’ll see tigers, leopards, elephants, wildebeest, hyenas, and jackals, among other species. Your guide will transport you to the airstrip for a scheduled flight back to Arusha International Airport for your return flight home after a great morning of wildlife watching.
