10 Days Best of Masai Mara & Gorilla Safari

Overview

The 10-Days Safari takes you to the captivating forests of Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla trekking encountering the world’s endangered Mountain Gorillas and also visiting the Kibale forest takes into a real world of Chimpanzees, the closest relatives of Man kind.

The Safari also takes you to the savanna plains of Masai Mara to witness the great wildebeest migration well known as the world Cup of Nature. Enjoy magical views of millions of wildebeest migration from Masai Mara to Serengeti.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Pick Up at Airport

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our guide who will give you an overview of the excursion and then transport you to your accommodation in Kampala. Cassia Lodge is a great place to eat and stay (Midrange).

Day 2: Travel to Kibale National Park in Uganda.

Get up early in the morning and check out of the hotel, ready to go on a 4- to 5-hour road drive to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. You’ll take the route Kampala-Mubende-Fort Portal.

Dine and stay at Primate Lodge/Ndali Lodge (luxury) or Chimps Nest/Kibale Forest Camp (affordable) (Midrange).

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & transfer to Bwindi

Early in the morning, assemble at the Kanyanchu tourist center to be instructed on the laws and regulations that must be followed when chimp trekking.

This primate journey lasts around 2 to 3 hours, with just 1 hour allotted for a face-to-face meeting with chimps. You must see a variety of primate species, including black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons, red colobus monkeys, and many more, as well as birds and butterflies, while on a chimpanzee trek.

Return to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is home to African bush elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes, and other wildlife. Drive through the Ishasha area to see tree-climbing lions before arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 4: Trekking with the gorillas

Today will begin with a great breakfast at your separate resort, followed by a briefing at the park headquarters on gorilla trekking dos and don’ts.


You will be allocated to a habituated family to monitor in a group of eight guests today.

The walk might last anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, with just 1 hour allotted for you to engage your imagination with these animals, take photographs, and learn about their habits.

Return to your hotel for a break, and then take a nighttime stroll to the Batwa hamlet to learn more about their distinctive customs and customs, as well as dances performed by the Batwa.

Before going to the jungle to seek gorillas, make sure you have a packed lunch, energy-boosting snacks, and bottled water.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe and fly to Nairobi

Early in the morning, check out of the lodge and prepare to return to Kampala/Entebbe to catch a flight to Nairobi. Arrive at Kenyatta International Airport or Jomo Kenyatta Airport early enough, then drive to your Nairobi hotel. The Royal Orchid Azure Nairobi offers dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

Breakfast first thing in the morning, then travel to Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy the scenery as you descend the floor of the Mighty Rift Valley.

An early arrival allows you to relax and participate in game watching, which allows you to see animals such as buffaloes, hyenas, water bucks, lions, zebras, and birds such as herons, Egyptian geese, cormorants, ibis, and pelicans. At Lake Nakuru Lodge, you may dine and stay the night.

Day 7: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Get up early enough to have breakfast before heading to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Big five game, as well as savanna grassland fauna and birds, call this place home. Mara Sopa Lodge is a great place to eat and stay.

Day 8-9: Masai Mara National Reserve

Breakfast at your lodge in the morning, then go game-watching in the magnificent Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll have a delicious picnic lunch and spend the whole day discovering the varied animal species.

 Day 10: Departure to the Airport.

After breakfast, check out of the resort and make your way back to Nairobi to catch your flight home. The 10-day Uganda Kenya safari has come to a close.
