Duration: 4 Days
Our 7‑day Serengeti Wildebeest Safari is the ultimate journey into Africa’s great natural spectacle. Each year millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move through the Serengeti in search of fresh grass and water. You will witness dramatic river crossings where predators lurk, vast herds spilling over the plains, and intimate moments in the bush where lions stalk and elephants roam.
This safari is crafted to bring you as close to the migration as possible. You will enjoy daily game drives led by experienced guides, comfortable accommodation in iconic settings, and meals that connect you to place. We take care of every detail so you can focus on wildlife, landscape, and wonder.
Day 1 – Arrival at Kilimanjaro or Seronera airstrip and transfer to lodge
Day 2 – Full‑day Serengeti game drive in the northern sector
Day 3 – Follow migration herds and river crossings around Grumeti River
Day 4 – Explore the western corridor or central Serengeti
Day 5 – Watch wildebeest crossings at Mara River entry point
Day 6 – Morning safari and afternoon relax in Serengeti
Day 7 – Final game drive and departure to airstrip
You will arrive by light aircraft or 4×4 transfer into the Serengeti where our guide greets you. A short drive delivers you to your lodge or tented camp. After settling in, we enjoy lunch together while you take in the sweeping landscape. In the afternoon we embark on our first game drive. You will be immersed in savannah life as you track zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. By evening, you return under a golden sky. Your first sunset in the Serengeti brings a sense of arrival and possibility.
Overnight:
Today we venture into the northern Serengeti, a vast stretch of rolling plains and kopjes. You will spend a full day with the migration herds. Expect to see thousands of wildebeest and zebras moving across the plains in slow swagger. Predators like lions and hyenas often shadow their path. We enjoy picnic lunch under shade before heading to vantage points where birdlife is abundant and the view stretches for miles.
Afternoon offers exploration of remote valleys with fewer vehicles and greater silence. In primetime we watch for cheetah hunts or elephant herds moving with the grass. You return to camp at dusk, when firelight meets sunset glow.
Overnight:
Today is about rivers and drama. We drive west toward the Grumeti region where wildebeest gather before attempting to cross. From vantage points you may see intense rushing chokepoints and occasional grins of fish eagle. If conditions permit, we position ourselves near the river. You can experience the tension of dry land shifting to churning waters.
Lunch is riverside or shade under tree branches. Then we follow the herd as it continues west. Evening returns you for dinner and stories of the day.
Overnight:
Your journey today can go in two directions. We may head north along the western corridor where migration paths begin their masai mara circle. Vast landscape and dramatic river crossings may await. Alternatively we may move south into central Serengeti near Seronera for great cat sightings and nesting grounds.
You will enjoy lunch with a view, then carry on through afternoon light. We seek lion prides, lone leopards, and colonial life under fig trees. Game viewing slows and allows for photography. Sunset brings a quiet ride home.
Overnight:
Today we chase the pulse of the migration as herds approach or cross the Mara River. The river is famous for crocodiles and rapid journeys. We arrive early and take positions at safe vantage spots. You may see a mass splash, followed by hundreds continuing inland.
Lunch comes in the western plains. Afternoon we may drive into far western Serengeti or retrace steps east depending on where the herds are moving. Evening you rest near river plains.
Overnight:
Your final full day starts early. We head out again, lingering over key sightings. Perhaps a lion sunning on a termite mound or a giraffe bending to drink. You enjoy a bush breakfast if you wish.
Midday offers camp comfort, a cool drink, or a nap. Late afternoon sees you out once more for final game moments—a buffalo herd or wary warthog family under acacia shade.
Overnight:
Before departure we offer a pre‑breakfast drive to gather one last wildlife snapshot as dawn breaks. You then return to eat, pack, and check out. Our guide transfers you to the airstrip or continues with you toward your onward plane. You depart filled with images of migration, sky, and land-bound herds responding to nature’s rhythm.
Many meals are alfresco under the bush sky. Most lodges have basic internet but the focus is wildlife and presence. You might choose a balloon safari instead of a drive one morning. Our guides help to craft the right balance between adventure and rest based on your energy and interests.
