9 Days Uganda Budget Adventure Safari
Throughout 9 days, you will experience Uganda’s wildlife and culture as you engage in game drives, boat cruises, and primate trekking where you will trek our near cousins – chimps and gorillas – and also experience one of Uganda’s distinctive civilizations, the Batwa culture.
See tea plantations and the Bigodi swamp trail, which serves as a corridor for Kibale National Park. Impalas, zebras, elands, buffaloes, oribis, waterbucks, leopards, hippos, hyenas, and other creatures will be seen.
Itinerary in detail
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
The driver-guide will greet you at the airport and transport you to Lake Mburo National Park. The road drive is pleasant because of the fascinating scenery and a break at the Uganda equator where you can buy souvenirs and snap pictures.
Lake Mburo National Park has an area of 370 square kilometers and is home to wildlife such as impalas, zebras, eland, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hippo, hyena, topi, and reedbuck, as well as over 130 bird species such as the Abyssinian ground hornbill, jacanas, green wood-hoopoe, red-faced barbet and others.
You will see some of these creatures on an evening game drive that you will enjoy upon arrival, following which you will check into the lodge and the day will come to an end.
Day 2: Lake Mburo Safari
Enjoy a morning game drive to see species like as zebra, eland, impala, Defassa waterbuck, hippo, leopard, buffalo, oribi, topi, reedbuck, and hyena as well as trees, animals, monkeys, and reptiles. Among the birds found here are the Abyssinian ground hornbill, green wood-hoopoe, and jacanas.
Following 2 hours of adventure, return to the resort for a mid-morning meal before relaxing and preparing for an afternoon boat tour. In the afternoon, take a boat trip on Lake Mburo to observe diverse attractions such as crocodiles and hippos, as well as other birds such as the African fish eagle. Following 2-3 hours of sailing, you will return to the resort, marking the conclusion of day two of your safari.
Day 3: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After a spicy breakfast, proceed to Bwindi National Park for a wonderful drive across the plains of Kigezi terraced hills. Bwindi is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its unique attractions, which include endangered mountain gorillas, 120 mammals, including primate species such as baboons and chimps, as well as elephants and antelopes, and over 350 species of birds, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics such as the African Emerald Cuckoo, Common Bulbul, African Blue and White-tailed Blue Flycatchers, and Red-headed Bluebill.
Discover the Bakiga and Batwa communities and learn about their customs while visiting this park. Dinner will be given to you at the resort.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and a Batwa village walk
This will be an eventful day that begins with breakfast and ends with a briefing on the park and its people at the park headquarters. Get guidelines for hiking, such as wearing long-sleeved clothes, keeping a 7-meter distance, removing spotlights from cameras, and so on.
You will hike mountain gorillas in a group of eight people; trekking time varies on where you find the big apes, but you will have an hour to appreciate their presence. Additional attractions include the Common Bulbul, African Blue, and White-tailed Blue Flycatchers, and the Red-headed Bluebill, as well as animals such as elephants and antelopes.
Following that, return to the lodge for lunch and then travel to visit the Batwa culture in their community, where you will learn about their traditional cuisine, herbs, and cultural dance.
Day 5: Travel to Queen Elizabeth N/Park
Go to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda, a journey that takes 3-4 hours and covers a total distance of 200 kilometers. The transfer rewards you with an adventure surrounded by the undulating hills of Kigezi. This park is recognized across the globe for housing uncommon tree-climbing lions.
Other features in the park include crater lakes and species such as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes. The park’s various habitats include savannahs, gloomy, humid woods, dazzling lakes, and lush marshes.
Day 6: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park
After waking up, you will go on an early game drive to see spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and antelopes such as topis, oribis, bushbucks, waterbucks, and Uganda kobs, among others.
In the afternoon, take a boat trip along the Kazinga channel, where you will see countless schools of hippos, crocodiles, and other bird species such as the African fish eagle and the grey-headed kingfisher, among others.
Day 7: Travel to Kibale National Park
Following a leisurely breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park, the world’s monkey capital, home to 13 species, including chimps. It is also notable for its diversified population of primates such as black-and-white colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, olive baboon, bush baby, and many butterflies. When you arrive, you may go on a nature walk, see a hamlet, or even visit the tea plantations along the way.
Day 8: Chimpanzee tracking and a trip through the Bigodi swamp
Hiking will begin immediately following a briefing at the Kanyanchu information center and will take place in the forest with the assistance of a park ranger. Hiking takes around 2-3 hours, depending on where you discover the apes because they live in the wild and move from place to place.
After lunch, you will go on another amazing journey to visit Bigodi swamp walk and experience wildlife, which includes the magnificent blue turacos, black-and-white colobus, red-tailed and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, and olive baboon, among others.
Day 9: Return to Kampala.
After a leisurely breakfast, proceed to Kampala, a wonderful road trip that includes rolling hills, tea plantations, and stunning rocks, among other things. Lunch will be served along the route at Mubende, and you will be dropped off at Entebbe airport or a hotel in Kampala at the end of your 9-day Uganda safari.
